You’ll complete two or three training placements. You’ll work here for around five months and as a career starter you’ll perform challenging tasks and play a key role in specific projects. The programme provides a unique opportunity to gain knowledge and experience of signalling.

Start and duration.

The programme starts in April and lasts 12 months. Career Starter Signalling is a permanent position from the start. We recommend completing the 12 months of the programme with a 100% employment level. You are free to choose between 60% and 100% of your subsequent permanent position. This means you enjoy enough leisure time outside of work.

You hold a university degree (Bachelor or Master level), preferably in electrical/mechanical engineering, physics, IT or mathematics. You are eager to learn, a good team player and enjoy an interdisciplinary approach. You’ll rely on your analytical and conceptual abilities to implement solutions.

Remuneration.

You’ll receive an attractive full-time starting salary of CHF 80,000 a year.

You’ll get a 2nd class GA Travelcard and five weeks’ holiday for the entire training period. You can also take advantage of additional individual training programmes, such as language courses, time abroad and specific certifications.

How you benefit.

Over the course of your various training placements, you’ll gain knowledge and experience in your chosen specialist field and apply it directly. You’ll also complete our introduction programme with the opportunity to expand your specialist knowledge in specific courses.

Coaching.

A personal coach will accompany you throughout your Career Starter Programme and help you to settle in at the company, to choose the best training programmes and to find the right placements for you.

Network building.

As you will be working on projects in various departments, you will be able to build up a large network and become part of the SBB Young Talents community.

Permanent position.

The Career Starter programme will have you perfectly prepared for a permanent position at SBB.

You have five days to complete the video interview after receiving the invitation.

After careful evaluation of your video interview, you’ll find out whether you’ve been invited to the Talent Days. Find out about us and our culture face-to-face at the Talent Day and experience our wide range of projects.

The Talent Days take place over two days and are used as a basis for deciding who we will hire. We’ll let you know the date in the invitation:

Talent Day: 6 November 2024 and 7 November 2024

You have to complete a few tests to prepare for the Talent Day. Please plan in enough time for this before the Talent Day.

Within a week after the Talent Days, you will be invited to a second interview on site.

If it’s the right step for both parties, your future line manager will contact you to discuss the final details. If both our and your requirements are met, we’ll declare it a match and look forward to welcoming you to the Career Starter programme.
