Laying paths for the future.

As a project manager in civil engineering, you are responsible for railway infrastructure projects in the central region (Basel, Olten, Solothurn, Aarau, Bern, Lucerne). Your place of work is in Olten. The focus of the projects is on bridges, underpasses and overpasses, culverts and supporting structures. From studies to commissioning, you are at the centre of all project processes and work closely with the railway technology specialists. You always keep an eye on costs, deadlines, quality and safety requirements. In regular dialogue with external parties such as planning offices, construction companies and authorities, you coordinate the efficient execution of construction projects. An important part of your exciting job is communicating with residents and other stakeholders. This is how you promote cooperation and drive innovation.

The programme in detail.

You follow a six-month introductory programme in all relevant areas of construction project management. It includes courses on safety, construction phasing, negotiation methodology and training in the ISP tool for handling individual projects. A mentor accompanies you from the beginning and also outlines the special characteristics and processes of SBB. Right from the start, you are entrusted with smaller projects in which you can immediately put the knowledge you have learned into practice.

Our programme offers you a smooth return to work in project management tasks in the field of civil engineering even after a long career break. You learn how SBB works and handles civil engineering processes. The programme gives your existing knowledge a refresher and brings your skills up to date in no time at all. The aim of the programme is long-term employment as a project manager in Olten with a working percentage of 50% or more.
