IT specialist: up to speed on innovation.

Our return-to-work programme gets you up to speed with the latest IT technologies within six to twelve months and lets you shape innovative solutions for the mobility of the future.

Shape the future with us.

As a returnee in software development, you play a key role in shaping the technical future of SBB Information Technology. Join a SCRUM team and implement exciting IT projects with new colleagues. You’re part of the team right from the start and value communicating on an equal footing. Because our focus is on results, not hierarchies. So you will enjoy working in a young, diverse team. Because at the end of the day, diversity is the force which helps you achieve your ambitious goals as a team.

The programme in detail.

The programme starts in Bern in August 2021 and lasts six to twelve months. You decide on the exact duration. The programme can be followed part-time with a working percentage of at least 50%. Your return to work starts with an introduction programme which gets you right up to date with current technologies and ways of working. We focus particularly on Java, Angular and HTML/CSS and on agile cooperation.

You then get started on practical tasks and take on front or back end development jobs. In your SCRUM team, you work on inter-divisional projects and get to work with staff from the whole of SBB. After completing the programme successfully, your programming skills will be right up to date.

What you can offer.

You have completed advanced training in an ICT profession (BSc Computer Science, ICT manager, app developer trained at a professional college etc.). The work you did before your absence of up to five years from the labour market is not of crucial importance to us. Your passion for programming is much more important to us, because Java and/or Angular are skills you’ll need every day at SBB.

Our teams are made up of a diverse mix of engineers, UI/UX designers, media designers, interactive media designers and Bachelor students getting to know their future work environment. The winning combination for successful cooperation is good communication skills, team spirit and enthusiasm for learning new things. You must master the German language (level B2). Good English skills are an advantage.
