Finance expert Andreas R. Herzog proposed as new member of Board of Directors.

The SBB Board of Directors will propose Andreas R. Herzog as a new member to the General Assembly of 21 April 2021. He replaces Erich Ammann, who is not running for re-election. The Federal Council has endorsed the proposal.

Andreas R. Herzog (62) is a renowned expert in finance. Since April 2020, he has worked as an independent entrepreneur, holding positions such as Vice Chair of the Hochdorf Holding Board of Directors and Member of the Meyer Burger Technology AG Board of Directors. He is also Deputy President of the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

Andreas has a degree in business economics from a school of economics and administration (HWV) and has followed various further training courses in France, Canada, and the USA. From 2002 to 2019, he was CFO and a member of the Board of Directors of Bühler Group in Uzwil. In his previous positions (such as at Eichhof Holding AG in Lucerne, Daniel Swarovski Corporation in Feldmeilen and Swatch in Biel), Andreas acted as CFO or held similar posts in finance.

Andreas replaces Erich Ammann, who has served on the SBB Board of Directors since June 2016. Erich is not running for re-election. The SBB Board of Directors thanks Erich for his commitment and valuable contribution over recent years.

The Federal Council has given its backing to the proposal for election made by the SBB Board of Directors. The election itself will take place at the SBB General Assembly of 21 April 2021. Andreas R. Herzog will take up his position upon election.
