National passenger rights come into force as of 1 January 2021.

National passenger rights extend the rights of passengers in the event of delays. Passengers travelling with national single tickets or point-to-point tickets will now be entitled to compensation if they arrive at their destination with a delay of over one hour.

If the delay exceeds one hour, passengers can receive 25% of the ticket price in compensation. If the delay exceeds two hours, they can receive 50% of the ticket price in compensation.

The procedure for compensation works as follows: your customers can apply for the compensation themselves using the online formLink opens in new window. (The website will be online from 13 December 2020).
