Switzerland has the busiest railway network in the world. Unfortunately, in order to carry out the work quickly and cost-effectively, it is necessary to close some sections of the track.
On this page you can find additional information about any line interruptions taking place in the region.Railway traffic information.
Check timetables before your journey, particularly when travelling at weekends.
Various construction work will be taking place on several lines at Switzerland's largest and busiest S-Bahn network – the Zurich S-Bahn – throughout 2015. It will help to maintain the lines, ensure your safety and adapt the infrastructure for future expansions to SBB's services.
Parts of the route often have to be completely closed to rail traffic – this usually only occurs on Saturdays and Sundays.
Announcements concerning any relevant rail replacement services (bus, tram) will be made several weeks in advance. The online timetables at sbb.ch and zvv.ch will be updated as early as possible (4 – 6 weeks in advance) on an ongoing basis.
When you are planning your journey, we recommend that you check the available connections or rail replacement options for your chosen travel times a few days before you plan to travel.
