Switzerland has the busiest railway network in the world. Unfortunately, in order to carry out the work quickly and cost-effectively, it is necessary to close some sections of the track.

Construction work: Lancy-Pont-Rouge–Geneva–Coppet.
Due to the construction of the Mies and Chambésy crossing islands, regional trains on the Lancy-Pont-Rouge–Geneva–Coppet route and vice versa are cancelled from 9 p.m. from Sunday evening until Thursday evening from 11 December 2016 until 9 December 2017, except on 25 and 26 December 2016, 1 and 2 January 2017, 13, 16 and 17 April 2017, 24 and 25 May 2017 and 4 and 5 June 2017. Replacement services:
- Lancy-Pont-Rouge–Geneva and vice versa: TPG tram 15 Palettes–Nations and vice versa between P+R Etoile and Cornavin station.
- Geneva–Coppet and vice versa: SBB rail replacement bus service with specific stops (see below).
- Chambésy is not served by the SBB rail replacement bus services, however the TPG bus line V from Gare Cornavin station to CS La Bécassière and vice versa stops at Chambésy-Place and Chambésy-Fontaine.
On Friday evening and Saturday evening, the trains will be running as normal on the whole line.
