About us.

SBB Consulting, the consultancy arm of Swiss Federal Railways, currently has 20 employees.

Senior Advisors – SBB top management – and experienced strategic and management consultants work together for you as a customer. Depending on your project needs, external experts are also incorporated flexibly as required.

SBB Consulting was founded in 1999. From 2008 the team from SBB top management was supplemented with experienced consultants to provide an expanded range of services for internal and external customers.

The main drivers behind the establishment of SBB Consulting are still its most important drivers today:

Knowledge exchange.

Mutual exchanges with other rail companies and businesses in other fields aim to generate lessons for both sides. Consultancy is about giving – but we also learn from every project we work on. This open exchange is very important to us. It is the reason why we are keen to promote benchmarking activities and are actively involved in international committees.

Targeted knowledge transfer.

The rail-related expertise, management experience and broad relationship network of SBB's top management have endured over time and are systematically passed down to younger generations. This also benefits our external customers. Furthermore, we are also convinced that mixed teams that combine experience and innovation are the key to success in several projects. This is particularly true for rail companies, for whom long-term, sustainable performance is especially important.

In future, we will continue to focus on professionalising our organisation, intensifying dialogue with existing and prospective customers, and expanding our portfolio of services in a prudent and target-oriented manner.
