September rail champion quiz: currency exchange at the station.

Foreign currency is an important part of any trip abroad. SBB Change offers a large selection of currencies at attractive exchange rates – online or at SBB points of sale.

SBB Change – home delivery.

Order travel money conveniently from home and find it in your letterbox just a short time later? SBB makes it possible. Amounts between CHF 100 and CHF 1,500 can be ordered and paid for using advanced payment, PostFinance Card, Visa or MasterCard. Customers choose the denominations of their notes and can benefit from even more attractive exchange rates for amounts over CHF 300. Once payment is received, the travel money will be sent in neutral packaging by A-Post Plus. This service costs only CHF 4 exchange fee, incl. postage.

You can find further information and an overview of all our available currencies here Link opens in new window.

SBB Change – collection from a point of sale.

Would you or your customers prefer to collect the currency in person at an SBB point of sale? We can do that too. Once ordered online, the travel money will be reserved and prepared at the chosen SBB point of sale. Depending on the station, the money could be available as quickly as the following day. The earliest possible collection date will be displayed during the booking process. With this service, payment is made conveniently at the counter in the station.

Of course, many major currencies are also available directly at the stations without advance reservation.

Changing currency back after the trip.

Leftover travel money can be changed back at any SBB point of sale. Coins or currency taken out of circulation can also be handed in at SBB points of sale. We donate these to Procap Schweiz. Procap Schweiz collects coins and notes from all over the world and the proceeds benefit people with disabilities.

Swiss Bankers Travel Card.

For those who prefer travelling with plastic money over cash, the Swiss Bankers Travel Card is a good choice. The card is available in CHF, EUR and USD; money is always loaded onto the card in Swiss francs. The Travel Card is available directly from every SBB point of sale without ordering in advance. Thanks to the Swiss Bankers app, the card holder can review transactions made and check their available balance anywhere and at any time. Money can be loaded onto the card at any SBB point of sale, via e-banking or using the Swiss Bankers app. The big advantage over other credit or debit cards: if the card is lost, a replacement card will be sent to you for free by courier wherever you are in the world.
