Rigi – the Queen of the Mountains.

The Rigi has so much to offer – two cog railways and five cableways mean it can be easily reached from every direction. The traditional route is by boat from Lucerne to Vitznau. Europe’s oldest cog railway provides an hourly service from Vitznau to the summit where visitors can enjoy the 360° panoramic view. On the downward journey, you can either go to Arth-Goldau or to Weggis via Rigi Kaltbad on the cableway. Europe’s oldest mountain railway is also celebrating its 150th anniversary this year!

Monte Generoso.

Monte Generoso, high above Lake Lugano, is canton Ticino’s most incredible viewing point. The first cog railway to the 1704-metre-high summit was opened 130 years ago. The towering ‘Fiore di Pietra’ building stands majestically at the summit. Sporty visitors can enjoy exploring over 51km of hiking trails.

The Glacier 3000 offers a wide range of activities to suit all tastes and has good public transport links via Zweisimmen – Gstaad or Lausanne – Montreux – les Diablerets.
