Customer information: SBB is installing more flexible display boards with more relevant information on the platforms.
SBB is introducing new digital display boards on platforms. Thanks to the dynamic display, information can be better adapted to customer needs and situations in rail operation. The first set of display boards was installed by SBB in July 2017 in Fribourg. All mechanical split-flap displays still in operation will be replaced by new digital platform display boards before the 2021 timetable change.
The new SBB platform display boards have various benefits for customers: thanks to the new visual layout and additional functions, these display boards swiftly provide passengers with targeted information, particularly when there are disruptions in rail operation. Moreover, they provide useful information for people with restricted mobility, such as where the lifts are located.
