Cantonal Councillor for Geneva and Head of the Department of Infrastructure.

For the canton of Geneva, Léman 2030 is, more than anything, an unprecedented alliance of the Confederation, the cantons of Vaud and Geneva, and SBB to work on a project which is vital to the region with the most dynamic economy in our country, all for the direct benefit of users. More specifically, it means creating more connections between Geneva and the rest of Switzerland, giving the Lake Geneva region an opportunity to bring its railway infrastructure up to speed, and coordinating the plans to best meet the needs of our cantons. The project also means developing regular services between the Swiss and French networks of the Léman Express. This will be a fantastic network for the entire region, from Coppet towards Evian, Bellegarde, Annecy or St-Gervais. The changes brought about by the Léman 2030 programme and the construction of the CEVA rail link will reduce the number of cross-border journeys by car while offering the people of Geneva the equivalent of a subway service right at the heart of the city. This will also provide an opportunity to develop new zones close to stations, offering thousands of new homes, offices and recreational areas.
