Crossings had to be created at Mies (Vaud) and Chambésy (Geneva) so that the Léman Express could be placed in service at a frequency of every 15 minutes during peak hours, and eventually all day long (from December 2018). The capacity of the regional line between Coppet and Geneva had reached saturation point.
The two new stops were opened in June 2018 and offer step-free access, greater travel comfort and modern installations.
