Lausanne: interlocking system construction site.

The safety and traffic management installations (interlocking systems) in Lausanne have reached the end of their lives. 

The project covers the area from the "pont du Languedoc" bridge in the east to La Conversion and Pully.

This work needs to be done before Lausanne rail station can be extended.

Calendar.

  • 2016 – start of construction
  • 2016-2017 – underground construction 
  • 2018-2019 – construction of the service building and test phase
  • November 2020 – start of operations
  • 2021 – end of construction

Engineering work updates.

We are currently carrying out the following work:

The building and its exterior fittings were completed in December 2019. The work being carried up until the end of 2020 will enable us to equip the interior of the building with all the cables and computers it needs to function as an interlocking system. This will be followed by a technical test phase, before the interlocking system begins operating at the end of November 2020.
