Lausanne: interlocking system construction site.

The safety and traffic management installations (interlocking systems) in Lausanne have reached the end of their lives. 

The project covers the area from the "pont du Languedoc" bridge in the east to La Conversion and Pully.

This work needs to be done before Lausanne rail station can be extended.

Calendar.

  • 2016 – start of construction
  • 2016-2017 – underground construction 
  • 2018-2019 – construction of the service building and test phase
  • March 2021 – start of operations
  • 2021 – end of construction

Engineering work updates.

We are currently carrying out the following work:

From September to November 2020, we carried out work on the platform area at Lausanne railway station to complete the extension of platform 2 and the final signals before the new interlocking system is put into service in March.
