Become a cleaner and help create an environment where everyone feels good.

Along with your team, you will clean our stations and trains to keep them attractive and inviting. In doing so, you will be making an active contribution to passenger satisfaction.

I have a lot of freedom to make my own decisions and can prioritise tasks when I’m running short on time. And I can see the results of my work straight away. That’s what I like best about the job.

Your work makes an impact.

Making sure that our passengers feel comfortable in our stations and trains is really important to us. And the work you do plays a major role in making that happen. Because as a cleaner, you do more than just clean. Using high-quality cleaning products and equipment, you maintain hygiene standards in our trains and stations and ensure that they leave a positive overall impression.

We value an open attitude.

As a cleaner at SBB, you work independently while remaining part of a large team. Good communication and an open mind are essential. You deal with different people every day in this job, so there’s never a dull moment!

Your work matters.

It’s no exaggeration to say that Switzerland would grind to a halt without you. Not only is cleanliness aesthetically pleasing, but it also has implications for safety. That is why you need to be especially meticulous when cleaning train components and rolling stock. You are also responsible for other important tasks such as performing final checks and initiating corrective measures.

Which is the right path for you?

Our cleaners can be found working in stations or on trains, with each area having its own specific tasks. Which is the right area for you?

I love it when customers appreciate my work. They often show their appreciation through small gestures and mention how much they value thorough cleaning.

Station cleaner.

The station is your domain. You empty the bins, mop the floors, clean the toilets and make sure that everything from the station concourse to the platforms stays spotlessly clean. You are also responsible for cleaning the ticket machines and removing graffiti and stickers. Modern machines such as mechanical sweepers and scrubbers lighten your workload.

Train cleaner.

You perform deep cleaning and maintenance cleaning on trains. This includes collecting litter, emptying the bins, cleaning the toilets and removing graffiti. When carrying out maintenance cleaning, you sometimes have to work very quickly. High-quality cleaning material and an app that shows where cleaning is needed make your job easier.
