Information Technology.

IT keeps the railways moving: nowadays it plays a key role in almost every stage of SBB's value-added chain.

This is illustrated by SBB Information Technology's broad service portfolio, which ranges from developing and operating the SBB internet portal to implementing one of Europe's leading sales systems, innovating efficient and ecological driving techniques, and managing ticket machines in stations.

The range of ambitious and innovative IT projects in which we are involved is correspondingly broad. Our mission to develop new, cutting-edge IT solutions together with the business is continually evolving. For that reason, we intend to further expand our in-depth specialist IT expertise over the next few years. SBB Information Technology is always on the look-out for highly qualified IT specialists. As a top employer of IT graduates, we offer exciting career prospects in a fascinating environment.

SBB Information Technology undertakes to constantly improve the productivity of SBB business processes and to provide creative solutions for customers through the continuously optimised use of IT. 1100 highly committed internal employees strive to honour this pledge day in, day out.

The overall importance of IT in the development of SBB is reflected, for example, in the efficiency of the railway infrastructure: practically the only way of increasing traffic volumes without expanding the network is by the enhanced use of IT tools in planning, production and maintenance.
