Construction sites and night work at SBB.
SBB maintains one of the busiest rail networks in the world. Anything that is used intensively must also be maintained to ensure that trains continue to arrive safely and on time at their destinations. This is why SBB regularly carries out construction work on the rail network and on the rails themselves.
In order to maintain train traffic during the day and to ensure the safety of her employees, SBB is forced to carry out some of the work in the track area at night when the track is closed and the overhead contact line is switched off. Only work that cannot be carried out during the day because it is too close to the moving trains or the overhead contact line is carried out at night.
SBB is aware that construction work is unfortunately often associated with inconvenience for those living near the construction site. SBB endeavors to keep noise and restrictions to a minimum and asks for your understanding.
