Language courses.

As a company serving the whole of Switzerland, SBB is committed to offering a wide range of language courses. With additional job-specific modules, you can, for example, expand your railway-specific vocabulary with an online language course. SBB will help you by providing time and giving you financial support here as well. There are also tandem learning opportunities, where colleagues with different mother tongues meet and teach each other their own language.

Learning opportunities.

Digitalisation is changing everyday needs and requirements both at work and at home. This is a challenge we are tackling at SBB. We are building up and expanding the digital skills of our employees with suitable learning opportunities (e.g. Microsoft Office 365 or SharePoint). 

Flexible offers mean that learning becomes independent of place and time. This is a good way to allow work, learning and family to be combined. Nevertheless, face-to-face teaching will continue to be offered where it makes sense for employees to attend in person.

As a modern company, we use innovative technologies and integrate these into everyday working life. One of the things we do is use virtual learning worlds to produce realistic simulations of different situations. The various digital opportunities mean that you can continuously develop in accordance with your needs, ensuring that you are ready for the future.

LenkBar.

Over 1,200 members of staff are active in this group. Together, they develop the management of SBB and tackle the questions managers face every day, as well as future-focused management topics. Participants can benefit from the wealth of experience of employees with leadership experience and you too can share your knowledge.

Performance Camp.

This is an offer designed for management teams looking to further develop. These camps are targeted in particular at teams who enjoy tackling challenges and challenging the status quo. The teams have access to an internal coach on two days. The coach offers participants the opportunity to work intensively on the topics of strategy, performance and collaboration. And personalised topics can also be tackled.

Digital knowledge platform.

Technical experts have collated rail expertise into a digital knowledge platform, making it accessible to all employees. Employees and managers share their expertise in posts, network in active online communities or in training and continued education programmes, and discuss topics such as integrated rail, punctuality or timetables and services. In this way, SBB ensures that specialist knowledge and particularly specific rail expertise is retained, continuously updated and constantly enriched within the company.

Potential and performance are made visible.

At the annual development conference, we look at the personnel portfolio of each team or organisational unit and assess the performance and potential of our employees. That means measures can be discussed and implemented in an effective and targeted way. Our aim is to increase diversity within SBB. Key positions are identified and occupied with the relevant talented people as part of staff replacement planning.
