BIM with SBB.

SBB relies on BIM: From 2025, we will gradually introduce the BIM method for SBB Infrastructure planning and construction projects.

Timeline.

The introduction of the BIM method is taking place in the following stages.

 
  • 2024: Stage 0, preparation. SBB puts construction projects out to tender with BIM.
  • 2025: Stage 1, planning. SBB plans construction projects with BIM.
  • 2027: Stage 2, construction. SBB implements construction projects with BIM.
  • 2029: Stage 3, commissioning. SBB commissions and finalises construction projects with BIM.
  • 2031: Stage 4, operation. BIM makes it possible to measure and analyse condition data and thus maintain the systems in a data-driven manner in the long term.
