Yes. With the introduction of the new processes for SBB supplier management, contract management and tenders, an SAP Ariba account and registration as a supplier with SBB are prerequisites for future cooperation with SBB and for participation in our tenders.

Yes. The SAP Ariba account is the first step in the registration process. The second step is to fill in and submit the SBB registration questionnaire on SAP Ariba.

No. This would mean that you would no longer be able to take part in SBB tenders.

It is important for the SBB registration invitation to be sent to the same e-mail address as the one your existing SAP Ariba account works with. If you do not already have an Ariba account, it must be the e-mail address you also want to use for your account. We recommend using a general address. In the following sections of this FAQ, we address specific questions about the two registration steps.

You can complete the initial registration on SAP Ariba by following the link in our invitation e-mail (‘Click here...’). You must enter the general details for your company in this step. Registration is free of charge. Once you have successfully registered, you will be redirected to the SBB registration questionnaire. The details that you enter here are specific to SBB.

If the link in the e-mail inviting you to register on SAP Ariba does not work, please try the following: 

• Check that you are logged out of all Ariba systems and sites.
• Clear your browsing history before opening the link.
• Try opening the link in another browser (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox (etc.).
• Copy the link from the e-mail and open it again in an incognito window (e.g. Google Chrome), an InPrivate window (e.g. Microsoft Edge) or similar.
• Ask your IT department to check whether internal network settings are preventing access.

Once you have opened the SBB registration questionnaire, the time you have left to submit your registration details will be shown in the top right-hand corner. In the run-up to the deadline, you will also receive appropriate reminders from us by e-mail.

It is important that you log out of your Ariba account before opening the link. Once you have signed in via the link, you should be taken directly to the questionnaire. Alternatively, you can log in via the SAP Ariba login page, after which you will find the questionnaire in your account at the top left under ‘Ariba Proposals and Questionnaires’.

Once you have opened the link from our invitation and logged in with your Ariba account, a connection will have been established. If you would now like to change the e-mail address retrospectively, please e-mail dp2go@sbb.chLink opens in new window. so that we can remove the connection that has been established and send you a new invitation to the new e-mail address.

While the approval of your registration is still pending, you cannot change and/or add to your details. After your registration as a supplier has been approved, you can, for example, notify us of address changes by adjusting the relevant details in the SBB registration questionnaire in SAP Ariba.

1. To do so, log in to you SAP Ariba account. 
2. Open the SBB registration questionnaire and click on ‘Revise Response’. 
3. Once you have made the changes, select ‘Submit Entire Response’. 

You will then receive a confirmation e-mail from us, confirming that the change has been accepted by SBB.

To be able to enter tenders and agree contracts with SBB via the new system, as a supplier, you have to both register and qualify. The products or services that SBB purchases from you are assigned to purchasing categories. You can qualify for a purchasing category by providing evidence (e.g. ISO certification) as part of qualification questionnaires. If the same evidence is required for more than one purchasing category, this is dealt with in the same questionnaire and therefore it must only be completed and submitted once. Qualification for a purchasing category is successfully completed if all relevant questionnaires have been approved. 

Once you have registered successfully, you will receive an e-mail asking you to qualify.

No, if the same evidence (e.g. ISO 14001 certification) is required for different purchasing categories, this is dealt with in the same questionnaire and therefore it must only be submitted once. 

When all questionnaires for a purchasing category have been approved, you will receive a final confirmation e-mail stating that qualification for this purchasing category is complete.

Yes, you will be informed and asked to submit the qualification questionnaire again.

To view your username or reset your password, proceed as follows:

1. Open the SAP Ariba login page.
2. Under the login button, click on ‘Forgot Username or Password’.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to either view your username or reset your password.

(Please note that although the username in Ariba must have the format of an e-mail address, it does not necessarily have to be the same as the e-mail address stored in the Ariba account).

In rare cases, SAP Ariba displays an error message straight after you have entered your username and password on the Ariba network. If this happens, simply click on the ‘Back’ button in your browser – normally, this will then load the desired page.
