As a Career Starter in Civil Engineering, you go through two or three training placements, depending on what you select. The first training placement will teach you everything you need to know about track systems within five months. You can then either continue refining your knowledge about track systems or select a training placement in BIM (Building Information Modeling) or Sustainability.

Start and duration.

The programme starts in April or September and lasts 12 to 18 months, depending on your level of employment. You can choose freely to set your level of employment anywhere between 60% and 100%, which will leave you enough time for your personal plans outside of work.

You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering or a comparable education. Ideally, you already have some initial experience in project management. You enjoy learning new things, are a team player and have an affinity for all things digital.

Remuneration.

You’ll receive an attractive full-time starting salary of CHF 80,000 a year.

Benefits.

You’ll get a 2nd class GA Travelcard and five weeks’ holiday for the entire training period. You can also take advantage of additional individual training programmes, such as language courses, time abroad and specific certifications.

How you benefit.

Over the course of your various training placements, you’ll gain knowledge and experience in your chosen specialist field and apply it directly. You’ll also complete our introduction programme with the opportunity to expand your specialist knowledge in specific courses.

Coaching.

A personal coach will accompany you throughout your Career Starter Programme and help you to settle in at the company, to choose the best training programmes and to find the right placements for you.

Network building.

As you will be working on projects in various departments, you will be able to build up a large network and become part of the SBB Young Talents community.

Permanent position.

The Career Starter programme will have you perfectly prepared for a permanent position at SBB.

After careful evaluation of your video interview, we’ll let you know whether you’ve been invited to a personal meeting. Find out about us and our culture in person at the Talent Day and experience our wide range of projects. The meeting is used as a basis for deciding whether you’ll join our programme.
