The SBB BIM services guidelines are divided into two parts.

• The first part contains general information on the BIM method at SBB.
• The second part describes and explains the information requirements and the documents used to process BIM projects at SBB.

As a suitability criterion, SBB requires proof that the contractor complies with the openBIM working method. SBB may also request a project reference with BIM. This is particularly intended for complex projects. Detailed information on this can be found in the project documents.

SBB is aware of the following: To work with BIM, the entire industry needs to transform. SBB therefore sets realistic minimum requirements for key personnel with regard to BIM. The contractor can usually fulfil these requirements by providing a project reference or BIM training.

As award criteria, SBB usually evaluates the procedure concept and the project organisation with regard to BIM, including staffing.
