In SBB Infrastructure BIM projects, the role descriptions are defined on a project basis. The required BIM roles and tasks are described in the project and service description B1.
The role of the BIM manager(s) is the only predefined role on the contractor and client side. For larger projects, SBB can stipulate that the tasks are not to be performed in conjunction with other roles. Or it can stipulate that the tasks must be distributed among several people.
If you compare the roles of BIM projects at SBB Real Estate with conventional projects, the only difference is the additional role of the BIM consultant/BIM QA. This role exists on the SBB side. It supports the overall project management and project control in preparing the tender documents with regard to BIM. It also checks whether the BIM method is being implemented and ensures that quality is guaranteed throughout the entire course of the project.
In contrast, the contractor is free to decide whether and which additional roles it uses.
