Passenger attendant for frequency surveys.

As a passenger attendant for frequency surveys you are in face-to-face contact with our passengers, collecting information on their travel habits.

Like all passenger attendants, you are the face of SBB. As an obliging host, you give passengers your attention with a friendly smile – regardless of whether it's early in the morning or late at night.

You work 50% of full-time hours and are not responsible either for issuing fines or safety-related duties. This frees you up fully to concentrate on the passengers.

Your tasks.

You ask our passengers about their route and the tickets they use so that SBB can analyse their travel habits.
You record the data they provide on an electronic device.
You provide information to customers, ensure they have a comfortable journey and manage passenger flows.

To become a passenger attendant for frequency surveys, you must complete a paid, four-month, part-time (50%) training course and pass the exam at the end.

Remuneration system.

We have a fair and progressive remuneration system. We reward individual performance, take the nature of the job market into account and create transparency. We have also been awarded the We Pay Fair label.

Pay during and after training.

Gross monthly pay, including your 13th month's salary, is determined by your age, experience and location. The diagram shows the pay range (excluding supplements) during and after training.

At the age of 20, the training salary is between CHF 3,846 and CHF 4,311 per month.
At the age of 30, the training salary is between CHF 4,389 and CHF 4,700 per month.
At the age of 40, the training salary is between CHF 4,777 and CHF 5,011 per month.
From the age of 50, the training salary is between CHF 5,011 per month.

Supplements.

Up to CHF 500 for nights and Sundays. Supplements vary according to roustered duties (hourly allowance for nights: CHF 6 / hourly Sunday rate: CHF 16).
Flat-rate subsistence allowance: CHF 19 per day
Child allowance: CHF 320 for the first child (CHF 205 for each additional child) and other SBB benefits.

Your individual pay will be determined by applying the pay system in our Collective Labour Agreement when you sign your employment contract.

As a prospective passenger attendant for frequency surveys, you must possess excellent customer focus and strong communication skills. You must enjoy working independently and assuming responsibility, and be able to use a range of digital tools and applications.

You must also meet the following requirements:

You must have successfully completed a two-year apprenticeship or the Federal Vocational Baccalaureate.
You must have very good spoken German, French or Italian (at least C1 level).
You must be willing to learn an additional foreign language (German, French, Italian or English) to B1 spoken level and A2 written level.
You must be willing to work irregular hours.
You must be reliable, a team player and willing to personify SBB.

As a passenger attendant for frequency surveys working as part of SBB's shift-based operations, you will be travelling around the whole of Switzerland from start of service to end of service on weekdays, weekends and public holidays. Irregular working times are normal at SBB. However, you can enjoy empty ski slopes during the week, will never again have to run errands when the shops are at their busiest and can plan your free time more flexibly.

You'll be working alongside colleagues from various parts of the company wherever our customers need you: on national long-distance services, on regional services or at stations. Your work as a passenger attendant for frequency surveys can take you anywhere in Switzerland, but you will always start and finish your duties at the same place.

As a passenger attendant for frequency surveys, you have the following opportunities to develop and expand the range of your tasks within SBB:

Four months' training as a passenger attendant for ticket inspection: You will then be able to perform frequency survey and ticket inspection duties.
Eight months' training as a passenger attendant: You will then be able to perform the full range of passenger attendant duties.
