The region between Lausanne and Renens is the densest in Western Switzerland. A variety of work is in progress in order to improve the capacity and frequency of the services we offer you.
At present, the Lausanne–Renens section has three tracks and is a real bottleneck. This is why we are working to improve the infrastructure by adding a fourth track, which will accommodate:
An increased volume.
of long-distance trains between Lausanne and Geneva
Trains every 15 minutes.
on the RER Vaud (Cully–Cossonay).
We are creating a fourth track between Lausanne and Renens;
We are also connecting it to Lausanne and Renens stations;
We are coordinating this work with other SBB projects: renewal of interlocking systems, flyover (railway bridge between Prilly-Malley and Renens), extension of the platforms at Lausanne, terminus conformity and improved access to trains at Renens station;
Finally, we are renewing all the existing track installations between Renens and Lausanne
