La Praille: track redevelopment.

To facilitate the construction work for the underground station at Genève Cornavin, the existing track area at La Praille station is being adapted to create a 400m-long track for maintenance trains.

The project was completed and put into operation in the summer of 2021.

The project for the underground expansion of the Cornavin station requires a substantial adaptation of the railway infrastructure at the site. The extended track project at La Praille will ensure the smooth operation of the team in charge of the construction work and the maintenance of railway installations in the Geneva region.

Between the Lancy-Pont-Rouge station and Geneva stadium, the track area is being modified to integrate a long track near to the Halles de La Praille building. This track will be used for maintenance trains and will measure 400m in length.
At the same time, we are using the opportunity of the construction work to renovate the various infrastructure required for the smooth operation of trains in this area (tracks, points, etc.).
