140 trains run on the line between Geneva and La Plaine each day. Over the next 20 years, we anticipate a significant increase in the number of passengers who will be taking the train with you. This is why we need to increase capacity on this line, so that we can offer you more seating, greater travel comfort and improved access.

The work in the six stations.

• Extension of all the platforms to 160m to accommodate longer trains and more passengers;
• Development of the reception areas to improve the level of comfort for passengers (renovation of the platforms, installation of closed shelters, new platform canopies, installation of ticket machines).

The specific developments at Vernier station (2023 to 2024).

• Ensuring the access ramp for platform 2 complies with regulations.
• Installation of a platform canopy (to provide shelter for passengers) on the two platforms.

Investment.

Cost of works: CHF 71 million for the six stations.

Breakdown by funding provider: CHF 63 million from SBB under service agreement/CHF 8 million from the canton of Geneva.
